Guess the country from Street View
You're dropped onto a real street somewhere on Earth. Look around and wander down the road. Read the signs, the road markings, the cars and the landscape, then type the country. Get it right and you're straight on to the next place.
How to play
- Look around the Street View scene: drag to turn, scroll to zoom, and click the arrows on the road to move.
- Type the country (the box suggests names as you type) and press Enter.
- Score points and move on. In timed modes, the more places you name, the higher you score.
How scoring works
- 3 points for the right country
- 2 points for a country that borders it
- 1 point for a country in the same part of the world
So even a near miss counts: guessing Austria when you're in Germany still gets you 2 points.
Ways to play
- Global matches: race up to 30 players on the same locations for 1, 3 or 5 minutes.
- Daily challenge: the same 5 places for everyone each day, one guess each. Share your score as coloured squares.
- Solo: beat the clock and climb the leaderboard.
- Survival: three lives and no clock. How long can you last?
- City Ten: ten cities, no clock, just you and the streets.
- Private games: play with friends using a 6-letter code.
Clues that help you guess the country
- Which side of the road cars drive on (about a third of countries drive on the left).
- The language and alphabet on signs and shop fronts.
- Road lines and signs: yellow or white centre lines, sign shapes and colours.
- Plants, soil and sky: palm trees, red earth, snowy pines, desert.
- Buildings: roof shapes, building materials, power poles.
